UPDATE (16/03/2004)

A couple of notes on the aircraft:

I used the FAA TCDS Data Sheets For The Aircraft, Engine and Propeller, you’ll find some interesting information in them.

The Dash 400 TCDS

The Pratt & Whitney PW150A TCDS As used by the Dash 400

The Dowty Aerospace Six Bladed Prop TCDS As Used By The Dash 400

Aircraft Operation:

The aircraft is operated like any other conventional turboprop regional aircraft.  The panel includes everything the average user would want.  I do not include an autopilot at this time but if you think you can modify the panel in keeping with the panel for an autopilot, drop me a line with the modified .acf and texture and I’ll use it as an update.

The aircraft will lift off somewhere between 90 and 105 knots depending on weight.  Once into the climb the throttles should come back slightly, so as not to over temp the engines.  The throttles should be set at a throttle and speed adjustment is then best done with the prop control lever.  In this panel I have included a small separate engine/spoiler/flap control section so as to achieve best user configuration.  You will find this on the lower left hand side of the panel.  The section from left to right consists of:

Spoilers.

Throttles.

Prop Levers With Mixture Above Them.

Flap Control.

Once in the climb/cruise the best way to control speed is with the prop handles.  The prop handles are best fully forward for takeoff, descent and landing.  The aircraft has beta range and reverse thrust.  Stall characteristics are quite benign, as one would expect.
