We arrived to Nagasaki in the evening.
As usual, stayed in a traditional ryokan.
Nagasaki is of course known for the atomic bomb museum and park (below, right),
but the city also has an interesting older history. Below, left is a model
of Dejima, the artificial island where foreigners were allowed
to stay and trade. There's a museum on the island today, but
you can't see it's been an island as the water around has been
mostly filled in.
Nagasaki is an important shipping port still.
Some other views of Nagasaki, which certainly is worth
visiting even if one doesn't intend to go to the
famous places.
Dinner at a restaurant which specializes in small
grilled dishes: Meat, vegetables, eggs and so on.
Next: Tokyo
