Ha Noi

After Bai Bang, we went to Ha Noi for a couple of days.

The military museum in Ha Noi[MiG-21 at museum in Ha Noi]

I wasn't feeling very well, so most of the things we saw there I didn't take any pictures of, but as military aviation is on of my interests, naturally I had to photograph the MiG-21 at the military museum in Ha Noi. And the radar station of course.

You could buy lots of beutiful and cheap silk in Ha Noi. I mostly got practical things like pillow cases and sleeping bag liners, which have come in very handy on later journeys.

[Ha Noi street scene] One night we got to a water theatre show. Ingenious use of the water in the display. Don't miss it if have the opportunity to see a show.

We also made a bus trip to Halong Bay from Ha Noi and stayed over night. But as I said, I wasn't feeling very well, so I didn't go on the boat trip. But my companions said it was rather misty. But from where I were, at a hotel on a hill, it did indeed look like a beutiful place. But I don't think it's something I'd go back to if I return to Viet Nam.

After a night at Hong Gai, we returned to Ha Noi for another night.

[View from the hotel] The morning after, we took a flight to Hue, the old imperial city.
