You sometimes hear or read that "automatic watches don't work in the absence of gravity". But when you think about automatic watches in space, you will realise that's not quite right.
Which should one choose and why: A mechanical or quartz watch?

I'm not a collector by any means, so I don't have may watches, but the ones here I've either owned, borrowed or at least handled in person and like for some reason. But compared to others who write about watches, I might not have experience with many other different ones.

Junghans Spektral Mega Solar Titanium - Radio controlled nice looking and comfortable watch.
Citizen PMT56-2712 - Eco-Drive and perpetual calendar, comfortable and legible.
Traser S3101 - Tritium illuminated hands and dial.
Sewills Carmania - Old fashioned look, nice to wear.
Omega Dynamic - Legible and comfortable with a rather classic look.
Speedbird - Modern, but sort of old fashioned in the right way.
Sinn 156 - A chronograph with a layout I like.
Zeno Magellano - A very good looking manual wind classical pilot's watch.
Glycine KMU 48 - Quite large, but wears well and has excellent legibility.
Tissot PR100 Divermatic - Relatively economical dive watch.
Casio AQ-150W - I don't only use mechanical watches, sometimes an electronic can be useful.
