I've found it practical with radio controlled wall and table clocks so I wanted to try out a watch as well. And even if you're not in any way a collector, it's good to have very different kinds of watches.
It's a radio controlled watch with a date only window.
Solar powered, so no battery.
There are two recessed buttons, one to change time zone and one to check when last signal reception was or force reception which normally is at night. No other controls.
Internally it's got a perpetual calendar, so even if it misses reception the date will still be the correct one.
I like that the second hand is black. But black outline hands against a black/dark grey dial isn't the most practical colour. It looks very good and this is probably more of a dress than sports watch, so it's logical, but it's also the one thing I'd like to change if given the chance.
The dial is a nice flat finish and the chrystal doesn't cause unnecessary reflections. It doesn't seem coated which I think is normal for solar powered watches.
The minute hand only moves once per minute.
Legibility in darkness is good.
It's very light so it rides well on the wrist. The deployant clasp fits me well.
The lug bars seem curved, so it's probably not easy to fit an other band to it.
When out of radio reception is't about 1/3:rd to 1/2 second fast per day.
Very good.
