This base operates since 1932 and during W.W.II Brazil sent our 1st Fighter Squadron to combat in Italy side by side with the Allies forces. This P-47 I am standing in front was one of the planes that was sent and took part in combat (ground attacks). Watch that astounding hangar seating ahead. It is the famous hangar that was built to house the big (better say BIIIG) Germany airship Graf Zeppelin. It was built by a Germany company and goes for some 10 stores high. I will show you more photos of it. Most of the base's aircrafts are kept in there. It is unique in the world nowadays.
