The second one
Since I liked the first knife so much, and I didn't think I'd just happen to find one which had the point so low it almost wasn't a point and in addition to that an assymetric handle made to fit my hand.
I contacted the maker and asked if he could make a knife to order. He does sometimes, so I made sketch which showed the knife in full scale.
My basic wishes for this knife is was total length of 190 mm, blade thickness about 3 mm, stainless in ATS-34 or D2.
I left most of the details to his experience, as I've never made a knife.
The finished knife came out like this:
Weight, knife only: 117 g
Length, total: 189 mm
Blade thickness: 3 mm
Steel: ATS-34, full tang
Bolster: Nickel silver
Handle: stabilised root of Sallow
Christer made a good job of following my intentions regarding the blade and handle shape (and I was lucky I did it right, as I designed the knife on paper only). Most people would find the handle on the small side, but for me it's right.
To give you an idea of its size and weight, it can be compared to a CS Mini California Drop point, which is practically spot on the same weight and a handle about the same size. Actually, it's that knife this one will "replace" for me.
