This is an interesting hunting knife I brought home from
the Arkhangelsk region. It's hand made by a hunter for
his own use (I think it was his spare knife, as as far as
I understand he doesn't regularly make knives for others).
The sheath is made of thin leather,
with wooden inserts.
The wooden handle is very well shaped and comfortable to hold and use.
The knife is light, only 0.088 kg, and the sheath 0.066 kg. The blade is 1.5 mm thick and I don't know what kind of steel it's made of.
The blade is convex ground with no bevel at all.
The false edge of the clip, which isn't sharp, is
ground assymetrically
and a bit roughly compared to the rest of the blade finish.
I haven't tested it, but in my judgement this knife is made to be a high performance cutter, judging from the blade geometry, and it's clearly seen a lot of use, but I don't know how old it is.
