No, this isn't about if you carry folders tip up or down, because I actually don't think that's very important. Partly it depends on the rest of the knife design if it should be one or the other, or even if it's possible to do it more than one way.
Of course I like it when we get the option to fit the clip for either tip up or down carry, but personally I don't think one's better than the other nor is it really something you get so used to that the other way is impractical.
No, the option I really miss is when you don't get to choose on which side you put the clip. The reason I like ambedextrous folder clips isn't that I often use knives with the left hand or carry them on the left side. It's because folders fit better in the right hand when the clip is on the left side.
You could of course take the position that a folder's first task isn't to be used, but to be carried and possibly to be easy to take out of your pocket. Me, I definitely think it's more important how a knife fits in the hand when you actually use it. Besides, it doesn't take long to get used to have clips mounted "the other way round".
